Hollywood, FL – Members of South Florida Progressive Democrats of America in Florida’s 23^rd Congressional District unanimously endorsed candidate Tim Canova for Congress for FL-23 after a poll was taken among members of FL-23 earlier this week.  The announcement comes on the heels of the campaign endorsement late last month from Democracy for America in Broward County, another grassroots group fighting for progressive change in FL-23.

“I am proud to have been endorsed early by the South Florida membership of the Progressive Democrats of America. This endorsement means that one of the most politically active grassroots organizations in the country that has helped build the Bernie Sanders revolution is now supporting me. I welcome their support and look forward to working with their members to bring a sea change to FL-23 by challenging business as usual, demanding accountability, and standing up for the people who live in FL-23, not the special interests,” said Tim Canova, congressional candidate for FL-23.

Tim will get great things done for all of his constituents in FL-23 and we’re excited by his candidacy. Since announcing his candidacy 6 weeks ago, the Tim Canova for Congress campaign has received over 9,000 individual contributions and is building a cadre of volunteers to run a grassroots campaign and promote a progressive agenda in FL-23 that includes getting big money out of politics, creating good-paying jobs in South Florida, addressing South Florida’s climate change crisis, standing up for seniors to protect and expand Social Security and Medicare, ending the war on drugs and mass incarceration, and promoting racial and social justice.
