Hollywood, FL – As the final full week of the campaign for the Congressional seat representing Florida’s 23
rd District begins, Democratic candidate Tim Canova releases two new television ads that will run on local cable and broadcast outlets.
The first spot, entitled “Integrity Matters,” reminds voters of Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s controversial tenure and subsequent resignation from the leadership of the Democratic Party. It then goes on to detail other ways in which she has let down her constituents, including taking campaign contributions from payday lenders, the sugar industry and special interests pushing for the Trans Pacific Partnership. It ends with a call for our community to “do better, because integrity matters.” You can view the ad
here.
The second spot, named “Clear Water,” identifies Big Sugar as one of the main drivers behind the toxic blue-green algae ecological disaster, and reminds voters that Debbie Wasserman Schultz is one of many Florida politicians that have received large campaign contributions by polluters like the sugar interests to “look the other way.” You can view the ad
here.
Tim Canova will face incumbent Debbie Wasserman Schultz in the Democratic primary on August 30, 2016. Early voting has already begun in both Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.
