On Friday, during their Executive Board Meeting, officers of the Transport Workers Union (TWU) Local 568 will endorse Tim Canova for Congress in the FL-23. TWU Local 568 is the largest union at Miami International Airport (MIA) representing cargo and fleet service workers who work for American Airlines, one of the top employers in South Florida. 

"Our issues at MIA are federal in nature, and over the past several years Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been virtually 'missing in action' when it comes to supporting our members' issues, unlike other members of the South Florida congressional delegation. It's time for change! And that change is Tim Canova. We know that Tim will fight for us here at home and in the halls of Congress against greedy corporations that continue to put a squeeze on workers' wages and benefits. Tim will work with us side-by-side to ensure that our members sustain good-paying jobs with quality healthcare and retirement security," said Sidney Jimenez, President of TWU Local 568.

"As a constituent of FL-23, I will personally knock on as many doors as I can and our members will be fanning out across the district to participate in a 'boots on the ground' get-out-the-vote program to defeat Rep. Wasserman Schultz," he added. 

TWU Local 568 represents 2,500 workers at MIA, 344 active members (not including retirees) who live and vote in FL-23.
